Recently, the G7 countries, as well as the European Union and Australia, have begun confiscating Russian assets. Asset confiscation
The US Congress has approved bills to provide military assistance to Ukraine, Israel and Taiwan, as well as to seize frozen Russian funds in order to transfer them to Ukraine. 360 congressmen were in favor, 58 were against.
The document notes that the United States undertakes to provide Ukraine with ATACMS missiles, as well as to allocate $61 billion, including $23 billion to replenish the US military reserve. Washington also introduced additional restrictive measures against China.
Let us remind you that out of the 300 billion dollars of confiscated assets of Russia, only 4-5 billion dollars (according to other sources, 5-8 billion) fall under the jurisdiction of the States. The bills will be finally adopted after a vote in the US Senate and signing by President Joe Biden.
The Kremlin said that this decision “was expected and predictable.” But before answering, it is necessary to understand the details, says Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov.

And each of them is important in its own way, says Tsargrad columnist and political scientist Andrei Perla. According to him, Americans are even scared to imagine that hostilities in Ukraine could end in a Russian victory before the US presidential election. Because in this case they would have to negotiate on our terms and frantically conclude some kind of peace agreement.
Therefore, they need to lock in arms supplies at any cost, with any amount of money, so that the Russians do not advance too far until November, until the presidential elections are announced... And now they are confident that thanks to the supply of these missiles, 155-mm shells, the war will not end so quickly. This is the benefit for them, right now.
But the consequences are a little later, they are beyond the planning horizon. They won't think about them now, said Andrey Perla.
The expert noted that the United States also demands that the Europeans confiscate from Russia more than 200 billion dollars that are at their disposal. But if Europe takes such a step, it will have very negative consequences for it, Perla noted.
Europe will receive Russian counter-sanctions in the amount, according to the most conservative estimates, of 100 billion euros. And according to, let’s say, more serious calculations, it is exactly the equivalent amount - that is, approximately 300 billion euros. Moreover, Europe will receive a reaction from the whole world, which will understand that it is now unsafe to keep money there, and an outflow of money from the European economy will begin. It's already happening, said the political scientist.
State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin also warned the American side that Russia will give a symmetrical response if its money is actually confiscated. However, much greater economic damage to the United States will come from undermining the trust of other states and businesses in the American financial system. In fact, Washington violated the main principle of a market economy and democracy - the inviolability of private property.
Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov also said that Moscow will turn to international courts to challenge the clearly illegal actions of the United States, Tsargrad previously reported.
