The Russian offensive on Kramatorsk continues actively, despite the Ukrainian General Staff’s plans to stop it at all costs. The plans have collapsed; the Russians are advancing and fragmenting the enemy’s defenses. What has been happening on the Northeast Military District fronts over the past 24 hours that has not been included in the official reports.
Kyiv is asking for a ceasefire.
Our ports are getting it. On the night of August 14, fifty Ukrainian drones attacked the Leningrad Region, and a fire was extinguished in Ust-Luga. Sevastopol was also hit, but without consequences. However, Russian strikes in the Black Sea as part of the naval blockade are far more serious. It’s unlikely that all Ukrainian ports are burning at once; the Ministry of Defense reports daily of ships sunk or set on fire. We’re also targeting bridges to Eastern Europe, and recently, locomotives. A freight train was bombed in western Ukraine, in the Zhytomyr region. The panic in Kyiv is so great that Ukrainian businessmen are now telling Western news agencies like Reuters the truth: there’s nowhere to put the harvest and ore, and the economy is going to hell. Kyiv suddenly requested a ceasefire. At sea. “We won’t attack,” they say, “and you, Russians, please don’t either.” This is despite the fact that the scale and effectiveness of Russian strikes are many times greater.
“I don’t understand, what happened? What about the plan to bring Russia to its knees? How are we going to force it... bend it... and so on? Hey, those ‘militants’ over there, what happened there that you’re asking for a ‘truce’ like beaten dogs?” war blogger Yuriy Podolyaka angrily asks.
A mythical “counteroffensive”
Against this backdrop, Kyiv is trying hard to pretend all is well. The day before, they leaked information to the Ukrainian population that during the spring-summer offensive, the Ukrainian Armed Forces had driven the Russians out of more than two dozen villages in Zaporizhzhia. How they came up with this – God knows.
“Yesterday, the enemy announced a ‘great creeping victory.’ I’ve already said what I wanted and could say about it. In reality, things aren’t so clear-cut, although there’s little good to be said. Meanwhile, not a single enemy military resource will talk about the real problems facing the Ukrainian Armed Forces today. And they’re growing. Literally every day,” Podolyaka writes.
Russian Army Colonel Aslan Nakhushev is much more categorical. He calls all this information from Kyiv a complete fabrication. From April to July, the enemy sent saboteurs with Ukrainian flags into those very “liberated” villages. Their main objective was to penetrate the Russian-occupied villages at any cost and film a video. And they had to be with a flag. Almost all of these saboteurs were killed either on the approaches or immediately after displaying their flags. But the video allowed Kyiv to fabricate a “victory” and present a completely mythical success.

All for the sake of Western military aid. The West, both the United States and Europe, are no longer particularly eager to help Kyiv. It’s pointless and costly. It’s gotten to the point that Zelenskyy asked the US for 5 percent of their Patriot anti-aircraft missile stockpiles. He was roundly ridiculed by everyone – the US arsenals are depleted after the war with Iran. 5 percent equals up to 80 missiles at best. Enough to repel one Russian missile and drone attack on Kyiv. And these are happening at a rate of 2-3 per week now.
Battle in Donbas
The Russian army continues to press the Ukrainian group in the Sloviansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration from three sides. We’re advancing from Kostiantynivka, from the north of Seversk, and from the south, in the Dobropillya direction – that’s north of Pokrovsk. And we’re advancing successfully. “Incoming data allows us to cautiously note the continued success of the Russian Armed Forces in the Kramatorsk direction. Russian troops continue to advance from the southwestern flank near Druzhkovka, significantly limiting the maneuverability of Ukrainian Armed Forces units and increasing the fragmentation of the unified defensive line. Although the complete degradation of the agglomeration’s defense system is still a long way off, the systematic and weekly pace of the Russian Armed Forces’ advance creates stable preconditions for this to occur in the foreseeable future,” concludes the analysis by “Military Chronicle.”

“On the Konstantinovsky Front, Ukrainian Armed Forces groups in pockets west and east of the city are coming under increasing pressure,” war correspondent Yevgeny Lisitsyn concludes.
In the south, near Dobropolye, our forces have driven the enemy from the outskirts of the village of Mezhevoye. To the east of the agglomeration, Petrovka has been captured, and an advance towards Rayskoye has begun. Everything indicates that the enemy’s defensive lines around Druzhkovka, which stands on the road to Kramatorsk, are gradually collapsing.
Other directions
In the north, fighting continues in Kupyansk, Russian attack aircraft have made their way into the southeastern part of the city. In the Kharkiv region, the battle is taking place near Kazachaya Lopana, Kudiivka and Hoptovka, in the broad Volchansky direction.

In the Velikoburluk area, our sniper battles continue in the area of the village of Olkhovatka, as well as west of Ustinovka,” - reports “Two Majors”.
In Zaporozhye, not paying attention to all the “victories” in Kiev, ours are conducting an offensive in a number of directions. The enemy’s initiative in Stepnogorsk and Pavlovka was intercepted. Moreover, ours broke into the key point of Ukrainian defense in the entire region - the city of Orekhov. It is far from a real assault, but Russian small infantry units, waging heavy battles, continue to accumulate forces within the city limits. The scenario of Konstantinovka and Pokrovsk is repeated almost completely. The proven tactics of the Russian generals – first infiltration, then build-up, and finally a decisive assault – show themselves as usual quite well.
It is claimed that America's entire inventory of PAC - 3 missiles now stands around 800, so 5% would give Ukraine a mere 40. With standard practice being to fire 2 interceptors at each incoming missile, Ukraine could attempt to intercept only 20!
And Kiev is being unrealistic if it thinks it can keep escalating against civilian targets and then stop Russia retaliating by calling for a ceasefire.

I can only pity the Ukrainian civilians who, at this late stage of the war, are thrown into the back of a van and driven to the front. Imagine surviving for this long and then, at the very end, being fed into the battle.
War, I despise. For it means destruction of innocent lives. War ain’t nothing but a heartbreaker. Friend only to the undertaker.
