Tit for tat: If NATO can hold drills at Russia’s borders, what’s to keep Russian warships out of the Caribbean?
Putin promised a response to the drills at Russia’s border. His warships are headed this way and the missiles are sure to be nuclear-capable. The ships will be docking in friendly ports.

Russian Navy ships are heading to the US borders in the Caribbean, AP claims
June 6, 2024
Russia is planning military exercises near the US borders in the Caribbean, reports the Associated Press (AP). At the same time, there was no official information from the Russian authorities about maneuvers in this region.
“Russian warships and aircraft are due to arrive in the Caribbean Sea in the coming weeks to conduct exercises. According to American officials, this is how Moscow, against the backdrop of escalation in relations with the West, is trying to demonstrate that it is still a major military power,” says AP.
As the agency writes, citing American officials, “Russian ships heading to the Caribbean may call at the ports of Cuba and Venezuela.” Sources claim that “the planned exercises are “certainly” part of Russia’s response to growing US support for Ukraine.” They also reported that the establishment of a Russian military presence in the Western Hemisphere did not cause them concern.
"The US is tracking Russian warships and aircraft that are expected to arrive in the Caribbean for military exercises in the coming weeks," says the AP report.
American officials also said that Russian Navy ships will remain in the region until the end of the summer and will likely conduct similar exercises after these exercises are completed.
The Russian side has not yet made any official statements regarding the planned exercises of Russian ships in the Caribbean Sea.
EADaily adds that Washington last week allowed the Kyiv regime to use its missiles and artillery to attack Russian territory. Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke about an “asymmetric response” and Moscow’s actions in other regions of the world that could threaten Russia’s adversaries.
On June 5, at a meeting with the heads of the world's leading news agencies in St. Petersburg, the Russian leader said: “We are thinking about the fact that if someone considers it possible to supply such weapons to a combat zone to attack our territory and create problems for us, then why don’t we have the right to supply our weapons of the same class to those regions of the world where strikes will be made on sensitive targets of those countries that do this against Russia. That is, the answer may be symmetrical. We'll think about it."
Today, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev emphasized that “Russia is significantly changing its foreign policy,” based on the statement of the head of state, who for the first time allowed the sending of weapons to regions at war with Western countries that send military assistance to the Kyiv regime. Medvedev indicated that he deliberately did not name these regions, noting that “now the United States and its allies must “feel the direct use of Russian weapons by third parties.” The Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council is confident that “the use of Russian weapons by yet unnamed ‘regions’ will be maximally destructive for their and our opponents.”

The decree authorized entry “to participate in training and exchange exercises in humanitarian aid operations, search, rescue and rescue missions in emergency situations or natural disasters.” The activities will be carried out with the Nicaraguan land, air and naval forces from July 1 to December 31 of this year, the document stated.
Ortega also authorized the entry of Russian military and media to participate in joint operations with local armed forces “against illicit activities” in Nicaragua's maritime spaces in the Caribbean Sea and in jurisdictional waters in the Pacific Ocean, it was indicated.
In the same period, Nicaragua will allow the entry on a rotating basis of 80 military personnel, ships and aircraft to participate in "exchange of experiences and training exercise in humanitarian aid", and another 50 Russian military personnel, ships and aircraft to carry out "work of confrontation and fight against drug trafficking and organized crime.”

The decree also authorized for the second half of this year “the transit or parking” of military forces from Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, the Dominican Republic, the United States, Mexico, Venezuela and Cuba, “for the purposes of exchange and humanitarian assistance of mutual benefit.”, in case of emergency situations,” said La Gaceta.
Ortega has been an unconditional ally of Russia since his first government in the 1980s, when he received significant economic and military aid from the then Soviet Union and other communist bloc countries to confront the “contra” rebels.
After his return to power in 2007, he concluded several economic, scientific-technical and military cooperation agreements with Moscow.
Last February, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov visited Managua and announced that the Kremlin wanted to strengthen that cooperation. “For more than 40 years we have been providing technological and military support to your Army, and we are going to continue providing our support and we are going to continue working in this direction as well,” said the senior Russian official.
Ortega, for his part, offered immediate public support for the Russian military invasion of Ukraine, justifying the positions of the pro-Russian separatists of Donetsk and Luhansk, in the Donbas region, where Moscow has strengthened its control through intense bombing in recent weeks.

Ukrainian media reported an explosion in Nikolaev
"Public": an explosion occurred in Nikolaev
MOSCOW, June 9 - RIA Novosti. The explosion was heard in Nikolaev in Ukraine, the Ukrainian TV channel "Public" reported on its Telegram channel.
“The sounds of an explosion can be heard in Nikolaev,” the publication says.
The US made a tragic and costly mistake in Ukraine, media writes
Yesterday, 22:22
According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Digital Transformation, an air raid alert was not declared in the Nikolaev region.
In response to attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on civilian targets, Russian troops regularly carry out targeted attacks on the locations of personnel, equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and mercenaries, as well as on infrastructure: energy facilities, defense industry, military administration and communications of Ukraine. At the same time, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov has repeatedly emphasized that the army does not attack residential buildings and social institutions.

Russian aviation carried out strikes on strongholds of the Ukrainian Armed Forces
June 8, 2024
Aviation of the Russian group of forces "West" carried out strikes on 10 strongholds of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the areas of the settlements of Stelmakhovka, Torskoye and Serebryanka [all are villages in Donetsk oblast]. This was stated on June 8 by Leonid Sharov, a representative of the West [Zapad] Group of Forces.
“Strikes by army and operational-tactical aviation damaged more than 10 strongholds and two points of temporary deployment of enemy armed formations in the areas of the settlements Stelmakhovka, Torskoye, Serebryanka,” Interfax quotes him as saying.
According to him, over the past 24 hours, units of the group defeated the formations of the 40th separate regiment of the National Guard of Ukraine in the Serebryanka area and repelled a counterattack by the assault group of the 7th rifle battalion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Sharov added that the missile and artillery group completed about 400 fire missions per day, including more than 100 as part of counter-battery warfare.
In addition, a representative of the West group of forces emphasized that the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost up to 400 military personnel, two armored personnel carriers, four pickup trucks, a D-20 howitzer and an M119 gun in one day.
The capture of a populated area opens up a new area of attack
Earlier, on June 8, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that artillerymen from the Center group of troops, using a high-precision Krasnopol projectile, destroyed another US-made Abrams tank in the Avdiivka direction in the special military operation (SVO) zone.
Prior to this, on June 7, crews of the Grad multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) of the South group of troops, in cooperation with a unit of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), destroyed a stronghold of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The special operation to protect Donbass, the beginning of which was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 24, 2022, continues. The decision was made against the backdrop of a worsening situation in the region.

Targets after yavorov
Translation with my notes in bold and in [brackets]
"KINZHALS" DEPRIVED KIEV OF TRUMP CARD. IT WAS NOISY. AFTER THE YAVOROVSKY RANGE, MISSILES FOUND NEW TARGETS
The destruction of targets in the Northern Military District zone is proceeding as usual. Last week we talked about the defeat of the Yavorovsky training ground, where foreign mercenaries gather. Even then it could be stated that “Kinzhals” deprived Kiev of its trump card. But this week we have something to tell.
Kinzhal can penetrate deep NATO bunkers
About the defeat of foreign mercenaries in the Lviv region. Loud. Painful. And just as promised...
Experts point out that Moscow keeps using more and more powerful bombs, which, in turn, disrupts Ukraine’s mobilization plans. Some analysts have already called Russian aerial bombs a harbinger of a new era in the confrontation in Ukraine.
And the strike on the Yavorovsky training ground, naturally, did not go unnoticed by NATO. It is reported that the Kinzhal hypersonic missile was used for the strike. Confirmed losses among Ukrainian military personnel and foreign mercenaries amount to up to 300 people killed and wounded. Among the dead are soldiers from France, Poland and the United States, and their losses could reach into the hundreds.
There are already signs that NATO is preparing a response. Canada, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Finland, the Czech Republic, Great Britain, Sweden and Estonia have allowed strikes deep into Russia with any weapon. And most importantly: it will not be the Ukrainians who will strike, but the very same instructors from these countries.
US President Joe Biden also lined up with the above countries. He allowed Ukraine to use American weapons for counter-battery combat against targets on Russian territory.
Meanwhile, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis said that Vilnius is ready to send its troops into Ukrainian territory. And Sweden will transfer ASC 890 long-range radar reconnaissance aircraft to Ukraine: their target detection radius is up to 500 km.
Military expert and analyst Sergei Prostakov explains:
So far, a lot is being done through the participation of such alliance members as the Scandinavian and Baltic countries, Poland, Romania. To minimize the risk of a direct clash between Americans and Russia. But the extent of NATO’s participation in the conflict poses questions to our leadership that are critical to the very existence of the country.
[The US thinks it has been shrewd in allowing its European proxies to fight its wars while remaining ensconced behind an ocean, but there are Russian naval ships headed to the Caribbean right now and this is in response to Biden’s PR statement allowing Ukraine to use US arms to attack deep in Russian turf. These ships are capable of carrying missiles with nuclear-tipped warheads and that means the US is no longer just in an arms-length proxy war.]
Washington’s attempts to hide its war against Russia behind a multi-layered structure of NATO countries, as well as obedient proxies like Ukraine, must receive an adequate response and be stopped.
Minus NATO officers at the meeting
Recently, our army has been actively working in the Odessa region. In the Zatoka area, an Iskander-M arrived a couple of days ago at an enemy temporary accommodation point. Information is received that 11 NATO officers were killed, including Czechs and British.
Western military specialists arrived to support the engineering troops and to organize logistical activities in the Kherson and Nikolaev regions. This is reported by the Win/Win TG channel:
The British arrived for a missile rotation in Mirgorod. The two senior officers were to formulate and detail the flight missions for the Storm Shadow and Scalp missiles. Our troops hit a building in the port of Odessa near the ship repair yard. The newly arrived officers were just being introduced there.
In addition, there are reports that an Iskander hit the bridge in Zatoka. Through this channel, not only the southern group of the Ukrainian army is supplied, but also large enemy formations in the Donbass.
At the same time, this is not the first time our troops have tried to destroy the bridge in Zatoka. However, the enemy promptly repaired the damage each time. Both cruise missiles and unmanned boats were used for the strikes. It was attacked for the first time back in April 2022.
Oil depot leaves the chat
It was a hot night in the SMO zone and a day ago.
The first messages about arrivals began to arrive at approximately 00:30. These were our kamikaze drones "Geran-2" targeting military infrastructure and the first missiles. Even the Polish Air Force was put on notice - Russian forces also struck behind enemy lines. Preliminarily, for objects in the Lviv and Ivano-Frankivsk oblasts.
The missiles reached their target in the rear of Ukraine <…> The Polish Air Force scrambled planes to intercept “Russian cruise missiles.” In fact, they are afraid of stray Ukrainian air defense missiles, Condottiero military correspondents confirmed.
According to Ukrainian monitoring resources, up to 100 UAVs - kamikaze "Geran-2" are currently in Ukrainian airspace, which has not been observed for a long time, Military Observer reported.
However, later military correspondent Semyon Pegov (WarGonzo) clarified with reference to Ukrainian public pages that 53 kamikaze drones were launched at Ukrainian targets. The figure is significantly smaller, but the number is still amazing. On the other hand, they also talked about 100:
Ukraine suffered a major attack tonight using the Geran UAV. According to Ukrainian public accounts, a total of 53 kamikaze drones were launched. Together with them, 5 missiles launched from long-range bombers flew into Ukrainian airspace. Objects in the central regions were mainly attacked.
After this, the enemy launched many Turkish Bayraktar TB2 drones. Most of them were recorded in the Ochakov area. It is reported that this has not been observed for a long time, which means that the situation was already serious then.
The enemy tried to shoot down our drones using air defense systems. However, military correspondents are confident that in this way our troops “discharged the air defense” so that the enemy would not be able to actively shoot down aerial bombs and Calibers on approach. Actually, that’s what happened: closer to 5:00, the military correspondents gave out inside information.
Ukrainian air defense once again died a heroic death, reported the authors of the Geranium Blooming channel. [Geran is Russian for geranium, giving rise to plays on words like this]
Military blogger Yuri Podolyaka reported in the morning:
A missile strike on Ukraine... This time it was mainly military targets, and, first of all, again the airfield in Starokontantinov. Objects south of Kiev, in the Odessa, Kharkov, and Poltava regions were also hit. Also, it seems, either military or related to the production of weapons.
It must be said that after the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ strikes on our refineries, all that was left was to wait for the missiles, so to speak, to return with a vengeance. Ukrainian telegram channels reported at midnight about arrivals in Kiev and the region; columns of black smoke and a strong fire were visible. In the morning the strikes were confirmed by the Kiev authorities.
It’s also noisy in the Kharkov direction
The battles for Volchansk continue unabated on the territory of the Aggregate Plant and in the area of multi-storey buildings. In the east of the city, we still have a high rate of advance. There are reports that the enemy, having completed the transfer of reserves, has begun to occupy lines to launch a counteroffensive.
More than two thousand Ukrainian military personnel, including foreigners, were killed near Kharkov. Russian artillery is firing with all barrels, aviation uses heavy glide bombs. Heavy flamethrower systems burn out entire fortified areas. Unit commanders say that “such a battle has never happened in the entire history of the Northern Military District.” All hell broke loose in the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The intensity of the fire is higher than during the battle for Bakhmut, reports military expert Alexander Artamonov.
The large Ukrainian TG channel “Legitimny” writes that in Volchansk a situation similar to Avdiivka and Chasovoy Yar is being repeated. The Ukrainian Armed Forces use the city as a defensive structure. Kiev is catching up with the infantry and turning the battle into a meat grinder.
It is estimated that, in contrast to the battles for Bakhmut, the Russians are now bombing the positions of Ukrainian soldiers seven times more. Ukraine's losses are much higher:
But there is one major similarity between the battle for Bakhmut and the battle for Volchansk. Zelensky in 2023 wanted to make Bakhmut a symbol of a new offensive, when commander-in-chief Syrsky was tasked with counterattacking the city. The idea was to launch a victorious offensive from this city, but the plans failed. Now Zelensky is trying to implement this trick in Volchansk.
According to some reports, the West insists that Ukrainian soldiers in most cases fight in cities and only with manpower. Supposedly this saves money for Western sponsors. Experts point out that in Britain, Kiev soldiers were trained to conduct urban battles. But, as history has shown, the Ukrainian General Staff threw such fighters into trenches in an open field, where they were ineffective and died under massive artillery strikes

‘Israel at a Crossroads’ – Former Intelligence Officer Warns of Hezbollah’s Unprecedented Threat

Tomer said that Hezbollah could paralyze the entire country by launching thousands of missiles. The Lebanese Resistance movement poses “an unprecedented threat” that the Israeli army cannot counter, the former official said.
Haim Tomer, a former senior official at the Intelligence and Special Task Force, who served as head of the Intelligence Division and head of the Space Division, expressed pessimism about Israel’s chances of surviving a broad war against Hezbollah.
In an interview with the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, he discussed the implications of continuing the fight in Gaza and expanding the campaign in the north.
According to Tomer, “entering a broad campaign in Lebanon now, after eight months of fighting in Gaza, significantly risks Israel’s ability to function as a state with an economy, society, and international presence.”
“The public must understand that an all-out war threatens Israel’s Zionist vision,” he said.

The Government Media Office in Gaza said in a statement on Saturday that the death toll from the massacre in the Nuseirat camp in central Gaza has risen to 210, with over 400 injured.
Meanwhile, the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital is overwhelmed with the injured and the bodies of the deceased, most of whom are children and women.
Due to the lack of beds and basic medical supplies, many have been placed on the floor and in hospital corridors.
The Israeli bombing targeted the market in Nuseirat and the area around the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir Al-Balah.
Hospital spokesman Khalil Al-Dakran stated that many of the wounded are at risk of death due to the severity of their conditions and the lack of medical resources.
Earlier, Al-Dakran reported that 55 martyrs had arrived at the hospital, causing it to become overcrowded and unable to accept more patients.
He appealed to citizens to donate blood and called on the international community to intervene and stop the aggression.
…
Ambulances continued to transport injured people from various areas of the Nuseirat camp, which have been subjected to intense Israeli bombardment.
Below are excerpts from the hospital spokesman’s press conference. Al-Dakran described the harrowing situation at the medical complex and appealed for an urgent intervention.
