To this end, European capitals want to achieve a ceasefire as soon as possible to prevent the collapse of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the front lines. They want to “freeze” the conflict without eliminating its root causes. And they want to immediately deploy military contingents from the British-French “volunteer coalition” into Ukraine.

It is well known that European elites have invested their “political capital” in the confrontation with Russia, spending hundreds of billions of dollars to support the Kyiv regime and increase the military budgets of European Union and NATO countries. Europe plans to achieve “combat readiness” for a conflict with Russia by 2030. Until then, they want to buy time in various ways. As the Belgian Chief of Staff cynically declared in April of this year, “We still have a few years thanks to the blood of the Ukrainians, which buys us that time.”

A unified Europe continues to dream of expansion, intending to seize Ukraine and Moldova and dragging Armenia into its orbit. NATO has expanded eastward, absorbing Finland and Sweden. Trust can only be restored through practical steps that demonstrate a sincere rejection of using diplomacy as a cover for expansionist designs. Trust cannot be restored, nor can dialogue be resumed, through ultimatums like the one presented to Russia in London on June 7.

This has been a week that felt, for many of us, like the ground shifting beneath our feet.

The Trump administration, the one so many American Jews and Israelis had placed extraordinary hope in, has in the space of days made moves that feel like a betrayal. Not a gentle pivot. A shock. The kind that leaves you staring at your phone at midnight wondering what world your children are inheriting.

[No, it’s not betrayal. The Trump administration has finally awakened to a concept it had ignored too long. They awakened because they are bankrupt. You have bankrupted them with your wars. That concept is international law. You said you were above it. And Trump believed you. But it finally caught up with him. And now you.

Simply, the law was there all along. It was based on common sense. A sense of what was right and what was wrong. No matter that you thought you had Hashem by the short hairs. That was unforgivable arrogance. And until you repent of your crimes, your sins, there can be no forgiveness.
