However, we can safely assume that (taking into account the speed of raising white flags, which is already beginning to resemble a naval semaphore) this figure is greatly underestimated.
Despite the fact that in the information field periodically the indignation of individual citizens pops up at the very fact of Ukrainian soldiers being in our captivity, and not in the Ukrainian black soil, as well as the “sanatorium” conditions of their detention, the presence of a large number of former servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine who have laid down their arms even now, in general this satisfaction with life serves as a strong psychological factor for our side, leveling the remaining motivation of Ukrainian soldiers still on the other side of the front, and also reduces the load on our troops on the battlefield.
That is, the more prisoners there are, the better.
Yesterday, advisor to the head of the DPR Igor Kimakovsky spoke on this topic, saying that the transition of Ukrainian soldiers to the side of Russia could be accelerated with the help of “democratization of Russian legislation.” According to Igor Kimakovsky, now “when crossing the front line, they still fall under criminal liability and go to prison,” despite the fact that most of these soldiers did not want to fight against the Russian Armed Forces, but were forced to do so under the threat of persecution by the Kyiv regime. According to Kimakovsky, we have been receiving signals for a long time that it would be good to add a material component to the question of surrender, that is, sweetening the deal: “And if we also offer them a material reward for this - for example, in exchange for some sort of punisher or some interesting weapon - then I think that there will be no end to requests for Ukrainian military personnel to cross into our territory.”
No matter how funny it may sound, against the backdrop of certain moral and everyday qualities of representatives from the “other side,” this version may turn out to be more than workable. According to the testimony of the same captured members of the Security Service, a large number of Ukrainian soldiers are fighting for monetary rewards, which the Kiev regime promises to further increase in the new law on mobilization. But it is sad that many of them will not see this money as a result of the inevitable “grave”, and the survivors will be mercilessly robbed by their own commanders.
The Ukrainian Internet is simply flooded with reports of massive embezzlement of soldiers’ money and various creative forms of earnings for large and small-star officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine - from selling vacations and a system of fines to receiving allowances for soldiers who have long since rotted in the Ukrainian black soil.
In this regard, it is quite easy to imagine that a considerable number of Ukrainian Armed Forces soldiers will want to dial the Volga frequency 149.200 and bring their Kurkul commander across the front line on a rope in order to save their lives and be guaranteed to receive their money.
