Genocide has been endorsed for decades by the Evangelical church
Unlike the Russian aerospace forces, which use long-range missiles solely for strategic targets, Ukraine uses the NATO- and US-supplied long-range missiles, like the HIMARS, mostly to kill civilians.
Here’s your daily air strike update for May 20, 2024
https://ria.ru/20240520/udar-1947122293.html
Over the decades since WW II, the US public has become inured to this long-standing US military policy of killing innocent civilians under various pretexts. In fact, however, murder of innocents is even an integral part of fundamentalist religion. Genocide was a tactic hiding behind the religious sounding words “godless communism.”
But the time has come to call the emperor naked. Hiding behind the name of Jesus won’t work anymore.
The official Neocon excuse has been that if we bomb enough civilians, we can eventually induce a regime change. Although that “defense” doctrine has been in place for decades, it never worked that way, not even once, but neither did the US public ever protest this barbaric practice, which leads one to suspect that genocide is just a given, taken for granted as part of the American way of life.
But long habit doesn’t excuse evil.
To gain insight into the American psyche regarding civilian mass murder as part of warfare (by contrast, the Russians classify civilian slaughter as terror), consider so-called “Christian” web sites.
The reader comments on the genocide-supporting Gordon Robertson’s “Christian” Zionist Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN) web site never, to my knowledge, ever acknowledge the death of 40,000 civilians in Gaza and the fact that at least 12,000 women and children have been murdered by Netanyahu’s bombs and bullets. The real number is much higher but the authorities conveniently don’t count the unidentified ones moldering under rubble.
The Israelis and US accomplices only fret that their beloved Israel has suffered from so-called terror, and are convinced that millions of innocent Palestinians are all terrorists. Ergo they must all die (many GOP candidates and officials reflect this attitude in a pitch to these millions of demented fundamentalist cultists), as I commented here. In other words, these officials and candidates expressing sympathy with genocide are encouraged not only by bribes from AIPAC but also by their hyper-religious constituents. This dual support, coming simultaneously from slimy Zionist politicians with Israel big money lobby support and from well-heeled Big Religion, provides a formidably powerful impetus to genocidal policies in government, making the Israeli and US policies of genocide doubly difficult to combat! This is why those who care about the lives of tender children, beleaguered adults and bereaved parents in Palestine must never let their guard down, never stop talking about Palestine! Never let civilian slaughter be accepted.
Below is a chilling sampling of reader comments from radical fundamentalist Gordon Robertson’s 700 Club in the demented leader’s presentation on the upcoming murderous Rafah assault, which he endorses wholeheartedly (lots of prayers for genocidal Israel, absolutely none for starving Palestinians. “Christian” Zionists take very seriously the Genesis passage “I [God] will bless them that bless thee and curse them that curse thee,” referring to descendants of Abram. Incredibly these sickos actually have been indoctrinated to believe that if they even so much as criticize an Israeli crime, they will be cursed by God and go to hell when they die!):

Russian Armed Forces hit Ukrainian hangars with HIMARS installations
Underground: The Russian Armed Forces hit the hangars where the Ukrainian Armed Forces were hiding HIMARS MLRS installations
DONETSK, May 20 – RIA Novosti. The Russian armed forces attacked hangars in Ochakov in the Nikolaev region of Ukraine, where the Ukrainian Armed Forces were hiding HIMARS MLRS installations, Nikolaev underground coordinator Sergei Lebedev told RIA Novosti, referring to his comrades.
...
“The resistance from the Russian city of Ochakov reports that last night there were two strikes on the hangars of the former Rybkolkhoz. According to the resistance, Bandera’s followers [refers to Hitler-era Nazi hero Stepan Bandera, who is revered by the Neonazi regime in Kiev] often hid the HIMARS MLRS there, from where they also launch ATACMS long-range missiles,” the agency’s source said.
He also quoted messages from an agent from Ochakov: “Hello, Sergei! At about four in the morning, I personally observed two Geran [drone] strikes. Somewhere in the area of the former Rybkolkhoz [apparently a fishing group from Soviet days]. The difference between them is probably 15 minutes. They tried to shoot them down, but unsuccessfully. Anti-aircraft guns are all over the coast “There is one at the Ochakov resort and also at the Maysky boarding house in the area of the former canteen.” This is not the first time air strikes have occurred there.”
Lebedev's associate added that before these strikes there was another explosion, but he could not say for sure whether the sound was from an air defense interception or a hit.

MOSCOW, May 20 - RIA Novosti. Su-34 fighter-bombers hit the command post of Ukrainian troops in the area of responsibility of the Vostok group, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense reported.
…
“The flight personnel of the Russian Aerospace Forces on Su-34 aircraft completed a flight mission to strike with airborne weapons against units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the area of the Northern Military District. The bombing was carried out at the command post and enemy personnel in the area of responsibility of the Vostok group of forces,” - clarified by the department.
The crews used FABs [high-explosive bombs] with a universal glide and correction module (UMPC), which made it possible to deliver precise strikes without entering the enemy air defense zone.
After successfully completing the mission, having received confirmation of the destruction of important objects, the crews returned to the departure airfield.
Today, in the Northern Military District zone, Su-34 bombers regularly use bombs with universal glide and correction modules (UMPC) against Ukrainian targets and positions; the Russian military department has already published dozens of official videos in this regard. The Ministry of Defense notes that the UMPC allows strikes to be carried out from a safe distance from the line of combat contact. [about 40 km from where the bomb is released]
"They come up again and again." An unexpected statement about Syrsky was made in Kyiv
Yesterday, 20:30
The kit, according to available official information, video and open source data, is attached to uncontrolled free-falling aerial bombs and consists of a folding wing, aerodynamic rudders that control the flight of the munition, as well as a control system that includes an inertial guidance system and a satellite correction unit.
Thanks to the glide kit, conventional aerial bombs become highly accurate.

Why Arab leaders aren't helping the Palestinians in Gaza
As the world watches, we see a number of powerful governments virtually on the sidelines.
GIORGIO CAFIERO
MAY 20, 2024
Amid the gruesome Gaza war, passions are running high throughout the Arab world. Huge Palestine solidarity protests have been occurring across the region, and this terrifies many ruling elites who fear the Palestinian issue.
They view it as dangerously destabilizing, and starting months ago, a handful of Arab states, including Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia, began clamping down on pro-Palestine activism in their own countries. [Like the sold-out US politicians and Big Religion leaders, these Arab pro-US rulers don’t know good from evil. They SHOULD be ousted]
Such a crackdown in these Arab countries is no surprise and should be understood on two levels. The first applies to protests in these countries at a foundational level. The second is specific to the Palestinian issue.
Fear of political mobilization
Authoritarian regimes in general often suffer from legitimacy crises and thus see any grassroots activism and mobilization of citizens as potentially threatening. This is the case irrespective of what cause brings the people together. Most Arab governments want to co-opt and regulate such movements and prevent them from ever challenging regime-backed narratives and interests.
"Most Arab states are generally allergic to popular protests,” said Marina Calculli, a Columbia University research fellow in the Department of Middle Eastern, South Asian and African Studies, in an interview with RS. “They fear that opening the public sphere and allowing protests of solidarity towards Palestinians could encourage protests against the government and their policies in other fields.”
Other experts agree. “Any sort of popular mobilization or activism that brings people together, either online or on the streets, is a threat to these authoritarian regimes,” Nader Hashemi, the director of the Prince Alwaleed Center for Christian-Muslim Understanding at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, told RS. “Arab states today do not like Palestinian nationalism because Palestinian nationalism is a source of popular mobilization on the Arab street,” he added.
“The Arab world has turned its citizens into consumers basically,” explained Rami G. Khouri, a distinguished public policy fellow at the American University of Beirut, in an interview with RS.
“You can consume anything you want. There are 25 different kinds of fried chicken which you can buy in most Arab capitals and that’s fine. That’s what the governments want is to have people spend their time, money, and thoughts on consumption. But anything that has to do with political power, public policy, and allocation of economic gains has to be controlled by the government,” he added.
Palestine exposes the regimes' vulnerabilities
As to the Palestinian question more specifically, it can tend to expose weakness on the part of many Arab governments. On one hand, Arab regimes must cater to public opinion by making mostly symbolic and token gestures in support of the Palestinian cause. On the other hand, no Arab state wants to confront Israel. For many of them, this has much to do with their relations with the United States on which they rely for security and, in some cases, as a source of critical financial assistance.
With each day that the Gaza war persists, the domestic pressures on these regimes increase, which is the main reason why these governments are unanimous in calling for a ceasefire in Gaza. It is not so much about the well-being of the Palestinians per se, as it is about maintaining the stability, legitimacy, and even survival of Arab regimes. “Palestine is a just cause,” said Ghada Oueiss, a Lebanese journalist, to RS.
“Yet Arab despots never saw it but from one angle: How can I protect my regime?”

International Criminal Court prosecutor Karim Khan says the ICC is seeking arrest warrants for PM Benjamin Netanyahu and war minister Yoav Gallant, in addition to Hamas head in Gaza Yahya Sinwar, Hamas politburo head Ismail Haniyeh, and Qassam Brigades commander Muhammad Deif, on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity on October 7 and during Israel’s war on Gaza, according to a CNN exclusive interview with Khan on Monday, May 20. [Of course, in an effort to “look fair,” they think they must oppose not only the genocide but the people who oppose it. What jerks! No court decision must be based on “democracy” but on right vs wrong. If both the plaintiff and the prosecutor are punished, then there is no justice]
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, in addition to six others, die in a helicopter crash on the border with Azerbaijan. The cause of the helicopter crash remains unknown.

The ‘NYTimes’ finally publishes a comprehensive indictment of ‘Jewish terrorism’ against Palestinians
The New York Times has astonished its readers by publishing a long indictment of a subject it has purposely ignored for years: “Jewish terrorism” against Palestinians.

The New York Times is astonishing its readers, especially those of us who monitor its tradition of biased and dishonest reporting about Israel/Palestine. The paper just published a long indictment of what it actually called “Jewish terrorism” against Palestinians. The report, which is the cover story of the widely-circulated Sunday magazine, is titled: “The Unpunished: How Extremists Took Over Israel.” Here is the opening paragraph of the “takeaway” synopsis that ran along with the actual article:
“For decades, most Israelis have considered Palestinian terrorism the country’s biggest security concern. But there is another threat that may be even more destabilizing for Israel’s future as a democracy: Jewish terrorism and violence, and the failure to enforce the law against it.”
[This attempt to appear “fair and just” is also a fake because it suggests that the Jewish terrorism is just a recent development and that the founders of Israel were good guys. In reality, Israel was founded by 3 terror groups, the Lehi, the Irgun and the Haganah, all of which slaughtered whole families to terrorize all Palestinians to leave their land. It is well documented in this well researched documentary, based in part on Ilan Pappe's work. A small sampling of that heart-wrenching terror is presented here. The NYT is only giving you what the Richard Nixon crime team called a partial hang-out to create the image of fairness. The NYT image change is like an ambulance that arrives after the patient is dead]
The massive article, by Ronen Bergman and Mark Mazzetti, prints out to 52 pages. It covers decades of history, and includes more than 100 interviews. Bergman has long had ties to Israel’s intelligence services, and he includes inside sources. “This story is told in three parts. . .,” the reporters say. “Taken together they tell the story of how a radical ideology moved from the fringes to the heart of Israeli political power.” [NO, this is a lie. Zionism in itself, per se, IS a radical ideology! If the details of the 1948 Nakba had been disclosed at the outset, no one would have ever been duped into believing that Zionism was originally fair and just. The Israeli “nation” would never have been built on the bones of the martyrs. The NYT is just using the current genocidal regime as a scapegoat to hide the hideous past]
Howard French, the distinguished former New York Times reporter turned author, asked the obvious question on Twitter:
“Where was the daily coverage of the Times throughout all of this?”
French’s view was echoed in the paper’s comment section. “Jack” was one of the 2500 Times readers who have already overwhelmingly endorsed the article. He wrote: “. . . I am struck by this piece being the only one I can recall to make consistent use of the term ‘terrorism’ to describe the actions of Jewish Israelis. It is far more common to hear settlers who commit violence against unarmed civilians referred to as ‘extremists’ rather than ‘terrorists.’”
This site has long argued that the Times (like other mainstream TV and print outlets), covers up Jewish extremism as a central strategy in its ongoing whitewash of Israel. Time after time, we’ve shown how the paper ignores violent Jewish Israeli figures, and disguises vicious unprovoked attacks by Jewish “settlers” in the occupied West Bank as “clashes,” which somehow seem to just erupt spontaneously. But this report — finally — is starting to tell some truths. Let’s hope that the succession of Times Jerusalem bureau chiefs who committed malpractice over the years are now feeling a sense of shame. [NOT likely]
There are signs that “The Unpunished” is already starting to get traction elsewhere in the mainstream. Nicolle Wallace, who rarely reports on Israel/Palestine, gave 15 minutes of air time to the article in her May 10 program on MSNBC, including on-camera interviews with the two reporters. [I suspect that CNN’s change of heart, from a typical Israel-whitewashing screed to an open and honest reporter, forced NYT to follow suit and come out of the closet. This may signal a seismic shift in reporting]
So far, Hasbara Central, Israel’s huge propaganda apparatus, has apparently been stunned into silence. But the midnight oil is surely burning in both Tel Aviv and at AIPAC headquarters in Washington, D.C., because this might be the biggest single mainstream journalist challenge ever to the standard dishonest Israeli narrative.
The Bergman/Mazzetti report is far from perfect. It is long, but it doesn’t include the word “apartheid” a single time. The reporters aren’t required to agree with the assessment, but they should have corrected their paper’s previous whitewash and at least explained that major human rights groups, including Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and the Israeli organization B’Tselem, have all found that the Israeli system constitutes “apartheid” under international law.
Nor does the report challenge the prevailing euphemism, which is that the more than 700,000 Jewish Israelis who have violated international law by moving into the occupied West Bank are “settlers”; they are in fact more accurately described as “colonists.” [yes, and no one ever admits in print that they are illegal. The land they occupy is not theirs. Nor is there much, if any, coverage of the fact that Hezbollah used rocket fire to force these criminals out of some of the territory where they squatted.]
So why did the Times print this long report, which does actually start to correct decades of its biased coverage? In time, leaks from people on the paper’s staff may provide part of the answer. But surely the pro-Palestine solidarity movement, along with alternative media, can claim some of the credit [NO, they can claim ALL of the credit]. In the Internet age, it is much harder to cover up the truth. First hand accounts from Gaza, the occupied Palestinian West Bank, and from Israel itself, are now widely available, and the student protesters and others have spread the word. Add to that internal dissension at the Times itself, and so top management there may have decided the paper had to act if its reputation wasn’t going to be completely tarnished.
A related question: Ronen Bergman has long had well-placed sources inside Israel’s intelligence elite. Very little of what is in this long Times article is new; much of the reporting is about events that happened decades ago. So why did Bergman decide — now — to report on what is basically old news? And why did his sources, who include former Israeli prime ministers, decide — now — to talk to the New York Times?
A valuable post on this site in March 2023 by the eloquent Razi Nabulse offers a clue. Nabulse probed behind the headlines to explain why Israeli Jews last year joined the massive uprising against the effort by Benjamin Netanyahu and his far-right wing allies to stage a “coup” against the country’s legal system. The protesters represented the old Israeli elite, who are losing political power to the religious far right and the increasingly powerful settler/colonists. It is this old elite that Bergman quoted at length in this long report. The Times may be trying to protect this older “good” Israel from Netanyahu and his “bad” allies, who are the greatest threat to the country’s international standing in many decades. [No one associated with the illegal immoral land grab in 1948 is a “good guy,”]
It is too early to celebrate the Times‘s possible change in direction. First we will have to see if the paper, or other mainstream U.S. media, do any follow up [CNN has been FAR more honest in its reporting recently. Social media – along with honest media like Mondoweiss -- blew the lid off the lies]. The adage used to be that “yesterday’s newspaper wraps today’s fish,” and the online attention span can also be short. It is possible that this story will die down in a few days, and the Times will go back to its old distortion methods. We shall see.

The following statement by Medvedev is a sign that Russia expects the war to be over soon and that plans are being made for the day after.
Zelensky should be getting scared by now. Russian authorities have already declared him a war criminal and are looking to capture him and bring him to justice.
Medvedev: If it is impossible to bring Zelensky to court, he must be destroyed

After the capitulation of Kyiv, the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky should be arrested and put on trial or liquidated as a terrorist. This was stated to TASS by Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev.
“The further fate of Zelensky [after the capitulation of Ukraine] is not indifferent to us. He must be caught and tried for crimes against Russian and Ukrainian citizens. If it is impossible to deliver such a criminal, the rules practiced for terrorists should be applied."
- Medvedev emphasized.
“This is exactly the fate that befell Zelensky’s spiritual teacher, Stepan Bandera,”
- he noted. [Nazi Bandera, whose birthday is infamously celebrated officially in today’s Ukraine, was assassinated in Munich in 1959 by Soviet agents]

The Syrian Armored Forces: will return stronger than before
Syrian armored vehicles
The armored and mechanized forces are considered the basis of the ground forces in the Syrian army, as they are distinguished by their weapons capabilities, mechanisms, and monitoring and reconnaissance equipment, which enabled them to achieve achievements during the most severe wars with the occupying entity or during the recent war against Syria. These armored vehicles and tanks were the spearhead of the attacking forces on the areas occupied by the Wahhabi terrorist groups. Throughout the war, it proved its ability to work under all circumstances, and to apply its own tactics, which helped it carry out missions in all major and secondary directions, and in defensive and offensive formats. In any future confrontation or war that the axis of resistance may wage, these forces will have the primary offensive role, and we may even witness their participation in air and sea landings as well.
The most prominent tasks of the forces
These forces, of course, have two different missions, depending on the situations of defense and attack. In defense, they must hold positions, locations, and defensive lines, and repel hostile attacks, causing them losses in vehicles and manpower. As for the attack, it must penetrate the enemy’s defense lines, destroy headquarters, and attempt to control by fire the largest geographic area.
Latest statistics announced
_ Total number of tanks: 3740 (ranked 5th in the world).
Types of tanks: T-52, T62, T72, T80, T90.
_ Number of armored personnel carriers: 5475 (19th in the world).
Such as: BMP1, BMP2, BTR-40, BTR-50, BTR-80/82A, BTR-70, BTR-60PB/PU-12.
These numbers do not include the Ministry of Interior’s SAV armored vehicles, nor do they include vehicles with specialized missions, such as mines and military ambulances, or those belonging to the Air Defense Forces designated for the Shilka system, machine guns, and anti-aircraft guns.
Structure
These forces consist of 11 divisions commanded by the ground forces.
_ Eight armored divisions (Division 1, 2, Division 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 11)
_ Three mechanized divisions (mechanized) (Division 4, 7, 10)
_ Motorized Brigade, 3 armored brigades belonging to the Republican Guard.
The Israeli occupation army: The capabilities of this weapon have greatly improved
Many experts and former generals in the occupation army believe that what they call the Third Lebanon War will inevitably involve Syria. Armored vehicles will have a fundamental and central role in any ground attack.
In this regard, the former commander of the armored forces in the occupation army, General Shmuel Olensky, believes that the Syrian armored forces have become more trained due to the combat experiences they have undergone, pointing out that they are still a very important player in the region, despite the losses they have suffered and the consumption of their capabilities. .
Therefore, in the next stage, this force will be able to compensate for all the losses its vehicles have suffered, and will even develop and support them with modern and technologically advanced vehicles. Especially since it has local factories for this type of mechanism, and it also has allied countries that are among the most powerful in the world in this regard, such as China, Russia, and the Islamic Republic of Iran, which will be able to help it with this easily.
