The “profession” of journalism resembles a criminal enterprise in the West and westerners are so steeped in its poison that they hardly notice, and in fact, too many lap it up daily thinking they are getting the “truth.” The damage journalists have done to the Western mind by numbing it to the horrors perpetrated by Western elites is a crime that, if they were held accountable, would see thousands of these perpetrators behind bars for a long time. But instead we praise them and even distinguish them with prestigious awards.
Some of the toxic propaganda is quite subtle and only a trained eye can spot it.
Today, for instance, Bloomberg ran an article pointing out a risk inherent in the European reliance on US natural gas. The article is a step in the right direction, pointing out that relying on US gas (LNG) increases energy costs. But they also write:
Rather than replace Russian fuel with next-generation renewables, the continent has increasingly turned to American natural gas. But it’s risky, too.
“Risky too” implies that buying Russian gas is a risk, and that has always been the absolutely false suggestion – or outright statement – from politicians and journalists.
The real risk was in abandoning Russian gas delivered by pipeline, the cheapest natural gas anywhere in the world.
It was not until the Biden team blew up the Nord Stream pipelines that energy prices in Europe went through the roof and in fact, this crime (yes, it was a crime!) began the rapid process of deindustrialization in Germany that is already causing manufacturing companies to close or to transfer operations abroad. It’s going to get much worse and there’s no cure (though they tell us windmills and solar panels are the answer. But “green” energy is always subsidized, meaning it doesn’t pay for itself).
Here’s another total misrepresentation of the truth:

Is Congress Really Going to Abandon Ukraine Now?
The U.S. rallied the world to help the Ukrainians. Are Americans really going to leave them to their fate?
By Anne Applebaum
…
My comment:
The US’s so-called “help” to Ukraine has resulted in a loss of millions of Ukrainians who emigrated and an estimated roughly half-million dead on the battlefield and even more hundreds of thousands seriously wounded. The West is not helping Ukraine in any way, just helping slake the Neocons’ racist thirst for Russian blood. And ordinary Ukrainians are finally catching on that the US is not their friend. A poll taken in Kiev a while back showed that Kievans were ready to accept a Russian seizure and occupation. (Most Kievans can speak Russian as a second language. I visited the city in the early 70s and was able to get around easily using Russian. I noticed no foreign accent).
The war is now being won handily by the Russians, who are gaining turf all along the contact line and taking city after city. The Ukrainians are no longer the “brave fighters for democracy” touted in the Western press. The fighters sent to the front are scared-to-death men who are being pulled off the street literally kicking and screaming. Those that try to surrender to save their lives are shot in the back, often by the most vicious Nazis like the Kraken. There never was the ballyhooed “Ukrainian sovereignty” that we heard about everywhere. The Ukrainians completely lost their sovereignty when they were conned by the US agents, NGOs (including one of Soros’), embassy officials and msm on the Maidan into turning their backs on Russia and going with the US-led combined West. The US deceived them into thinking that if they overthrew Yanukovich, they would soon join NATO and the EU and become prosperous. Instead, they are now Europe’s poorest country by far, are losing their population and their economy and there is no hope in sight.
The internet is overflowing with articles on author Ann Applebaum’s warmongering and anti-Russia fantasies. Examples:
Here is a great article on warmonger Ann Applebaum and embedded in the article is a video showing Ann Applebaum appearing in a student group and confronted by a student who asks her embarrassing questions that she can’t answer.
The fact is, Applebaum really should be banned in US media. Her articles are taking the world closer to nuclear war and that is a valid reason for real journalists to ban her. The problem is finding real journalists in the West.
Here’s another expose of Applebaum: https://alethonews.com/2017/06/17/neocon-anne-applebaum-give-me-money-to-fight-russian-disinformation/
Disinformation is rife in Europe too.
The commentator in the below-linked video is not the source of the information provided. The original source cited is Kremlin critic Kirill Rogon, who lists several reasons for Ukraine’s failure to make progress:
1 – Russia has deployed 300,000 additional recently mobilized troops in its army.
2 – Russia has been intensely and massively striking Ukrainian power infrastructure, which becomes increasingly hard to repair each time it is hit.
3 – Allegedly, Russia’s threats of nuclear reprisals are making it difficult for Western countries to send supplies of heavy weapons like tanks and jets.
This last item makes no sense to me. For one thing, recently, the West sent 321 tanks to Ukraine from unspecified countries. This will allegedly take several weeks but some are already appearing on the front. Netherlands and Denmark have also pledged to send 42 jets. Of course, the training will take considerable time. What this shows, however, is that western countries are not intimidated by Russian nuclear power, as the author would have us believe. Throughout the war, no one hesitated to send weapons to Ukraine for this reason. Besides, the Kremlin never made nuclear threats over weapons transfers. Rogon seems to be putting out disinformation here, suggesting that Russia is unfairly exploiting its nuclear power to intimidate the West. This could be used as an excuse for when Russia wins the war. Russia cheated by threatening to blow up the world?
Well, then, we’ll have to be the first to push the button, won’t we? Then we can say we won. Don’t laugh. Lady Lindsay and Nikki Birdbrain Haley would love to be first to push it.
Krieg in der Ukraine: Russland habe Initiative im Krieg zurückgewonnen - Video - WELT https://nationalinterest.org/feature/donald-trump-could-betray-taiwan-208829
And finally, Trump criticism in the press seems to be centered around Trump’s unfortunate resistance to warmongering. We saw in the above that one author faults Congress for “letting down Ukraine” by hesitating to send more arms and money to the corrupt Zelenski regime.
Now Trump is supposedly ready to “betray” Taiwan by possibly not sending troops to fuel a disastrous confrontation with nuclear power PRC – which could do to Taiwan what the Obama and Biden regimes did to Ukraine. An all-out war with mainland China over Taiwan could leave that island a charred heap. But the Neocons are always eager for more war. It’s never enough. So here’s the kind of propaganda they put out:
Donald Trump Could Betray Taiwan | The National Interest
Taiwan’s unfortunate fate is that it will always be vulnerable to a sellout by the United States. This danger may be increasing. In that sense, Republican Party politicians who style themselves as China hawks and Taiwan supporters are backing the wrong presidential candidate.
Well, our fine “journalists” have so far backed the Ukro-Nazi regime that has sent so many of its men to the meatgrinder of the counteroffensive that they severely reduced Ukraine’s population, and the Zio-Nazi regime that slaughters kids for fun. Ukraine and Palestine are both rapidly being depopulated thanks to the US death machine, and none of this would be happening without the tireless efforts of the chicken hawks who crank out the kind of toxic waste I have pointed out above.
What can you do to stop the massacre of innocents?
Stop reading the msm and when you do accidentally stumble across this poison, drop an appropriate commentary into the reader comment section pointing out the instances of lies, false innuendos, exaggerations, Russophobia, Sinophobia, omissions of important facts, and general tendentiousness that threatens the security of our planet earth.
There’s only one.
We can keep it if we stop being led around by the nose by our political class and media.

Air strike update for Jan 28, 2024

Missile attack on Ukraine on the night of January 28: where the explosions occurred
Author: Evgeny Poddubny

Tonight, January 28, 2024, the Russian Armed Forces launched a series of powerful missile attacks on enemy military installations and infrastructure in one way or another connected with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Explosions were reported from several areas.
Explosions in Ukraine on the night of January 28: information from Kharkov, Kremenchug and Poltava
On the night of January 28, the Russian army carried out attacks on the military infrastructure of Ukraine, and now more and more information about this attack is appearing on the Internet. Unexpectedly for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, this time there was a night strike by kamikaze drones. The city of Kremenchug was hit particularly hard, where Russian missiles hit an oil refinery.

Link to photo of oil refinery burning: https://www.ptoday.ru/uploads/posts/2024-01/kr2.jpg
On Saturday evening, at least two ballistic missiles hit Kremenchuk, as confirmed by local authorities. As a result of the impact, a powerful fire occurred, which was extinguished only after a few hours. Representatives of the regional military administration reported that Ukrainian air defense forces were active in the Poltava oblast, although missiles managed to hit an industrial facility.
Also tonight, the city of Kharkov was hit, with powerful explosions also reported. The Gauleiter of Kharkov, Terekhov, confirmed missile hits on several targets, but did not provide details. Ukrainian air defense became more active, and reports emerged of the Russian army allegedly firing S-300 missiles at the city. Apparently, Ukrainian anti-aircraft gunners again tried to shoot down several missiles in the Kharkov area. [The S-300 missile was originally designed as an air defense intercept missile. I have never read a report by a Russian author stating that the Russian aerospace forces had launched an S-300 at a target. Typically, the S-300 will be used by the Ukrainian air defenses to target incoming Russian missiles and drones, and when they miss the target and fall on civilian areas, the Ukrainians invariably falsely report that the damage was done by a Russian missile. This kind of false reporting may account for the report of the “Russians” firing S-300s. It just seems unlikely that Russia would have deliberately used an air defense missile to hit a target. Theoretically, this could be done, however.]
Explosions reported in Zaporozhye
Tonight, a series of explosions occurred in the city of Zaporozhye, which is under the control of Ukrainian troops. Information about this was disseminated by several Ukrainian media.
According to updated data, the explosions occurred during an air raid alert declared on the evening of January 27 in 11 oblasts of Ukraine, including the Kyiv oblast.
The head of the Zaporizhzhya military administration reported damage to one of the infrastructure facilities in the city. It also became known that the air defense system (air defense) was used to neutralize the drones.
“In different areas, residents of Zaporozhye [the author is alternating between the Russian spelling Zaporozhye and the Ukrainian version Zaporizhzhya] heard from two to four explosions, as well as several series of shots from small arms,” said the head of the “We are with Russia” movement Vladimir Rogov in his Telegram channel.
According to Rogov, the air defense system was activated in the city, and according to information received from the local occupation authorities, one of the infrastructure facilities was hit.
The result of the strike of the Russian Armed Forces on a facility in Kremenchug was shown by the head of the Poltava Oblast Administrator Pronin
The head of the local military administration, Filip Pronin, shared information about the damage to the industrial facility as a result of the attack. This was reported by the Regnum news agency, citing Pronin’s Telegram channel.
“We continue to extinguish the fire caused by the attack on an industrial facility in the Kremenchug region. According to preliminary data, two ballistic missiles were fired,” Pronin noted.
In his message on the social network, Pronin attached a photo showing the consequences of the explosion. He also noted that there are suggestions that the explosion occurred as a result of being hit by two ballistic missiles.
Strikes on Kharkov on the night of January 28: details
According to the Telegram channel "Diary of a Paratrooper", the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation launched strikes at enemy installations in Kharkov. These points were also the location of foreign mercenaries, who were planned to be transferred to the left bank of the Oskol River, south of Kupyansk.
The enemy is actively trying to strengthen its defenses on the southern flank near Kupyansk in order to prevent our troops from retreating across the Oskol River and approaching the city.
[In their campaign to take Kharkov, the Russian forces are using missiles in an attempt to destroy all the crossing points used by the Ukrainians to cross the Oskol to cut off the supply routes]

Putin’s promise to eradicate Nazism goes way beyond Russia
Putin vows to eradicate Nazism for good — RT Russia & Former Soviet Union
What does Putin mean when he says Russia will do everything to eradicate Russophobia?
Clearly, the Ukraine war is the first step, but Putin makes it clear that this is just the start.
According to President Putin, “in a number of European countries, Russophobia is being promoted as the state policy.”
“We will do everything – everything to undercut and eradicate Nazism for good,” the Russian head of state pledged. [Notice the repetition of the word “everything”]
Nowadays, some of the most astute analysts are saying that Putin does not intend to invade any NATO countries after Russia wins the Ukraine war.
However, I think there are circumstances that could trigger a Russian attack on a NATO country, and this abuse of Russian people in the Baltics and elsewhere would be logical place to look for such an attack. After all, a lot of analysts – including myself – poopooed the US regime’s prediction before Feb 2022 that Ukraine was about to be invaded. We were wrong. Russia was not about to take any more abuse.

“Weasel words” are used to evade a question or an issue. They are a way to avoid direct statements of fact or principle. It’s similar to pussyfooting.
Weasel words are deliberately ambiguous; their double meaning leaves people guessing as to what the speaker is trying to say.
