Russia started conducting massive daily retaliatory air strikes on Mar 22, the date of the Crocus City Hall terror attacks. Ukraine’s ability to prosecute its war can no longer be taken for granted.
LOL they should be happy about this. They hate communists and their energy structure was all built by the Soviet Union. I am certain US and western companies are dying to come in and rebuild and put Ukraine in huge debt to the IMF.
They don't need to touch the nuke stations as they alone cannot re-energise the grid. It would seem from reports that power facilities have been obliterated to the extent they would need to be rebuilt from the ground up. No power = no water, no sewage, no coms and no good if you are high up in a tower block with no working lifts.
That's right. These are all old Soviet machines and they're incompatible with most modern equipment. It would take 2 to 2.5 yr to restore each system, with imported machinery. And the cost will be so high the donor countries will be hard put to pay for it. The choice is either power or weapons, not both. Ukraine is screwed.
Maybe longer as there are not that many manufacturers of very large transformers and generating machinery. The hydro plant might be an even bigger challenge. From what I have read the EU plan was to extract power from Ukraine on the cheap. That project has been terminated.

To the Europeans: Would you buy a used car from Joe Biden??
