We have been told over and over by unscrupulous journalists and politicians that the Russian special operation that began on February 24, 2022, was “unprovoked.”
I agree with your take on Russia being provoked into a military action against Ukraine. The shelling of Eastern Ukraine, the outlawing of the Russian Orthodox church, the shutting down of his political opposition and his control of Ukrainian media all cement his status as a despot as opposed to a hero.
Great stuff. I'm so tired of hearing about the "unprovoked" and "unnecessary" invasion by Russia. If China was building an Army in Mexico, what would we do? Cuban Missile Crisis? Is that even taught in schools any more?
Question: When was the last time you jumped under a bed when you heard a plane flying overhead? In May, 2015, I traveled to Sevastopol, Crimea, which held a referendum the year before, to ask Russia to take it back. While staying at a hostel, I met a family from Donetsk. Their house had been bombed by Kiev, along with the mother's house of one of the two parents. And they were so traumatized, that the sound of an airplane overhead put them into a panic.
So, people can say, "Kiev was not attacking its own people in Eastern Ukraine", but with my own eyes, I saw a family who obviously ran for their lives.
In addition, the owners of the hostel are on record saying that they helped organize the referendum, and the husband is on a 'Wanted--Hit list" by the Kiev regime.
The US invoked their "Responsibility to Protect' Doctrine, to initiate the destruction of Yugoslavia and of Libya--based on false accusations! But when Russia, after dragging its feet for 8 years finally intervened following a resolution in the Russia Duma/Parliament finally acted, the uber Hypocrits of the West have the nerve to say, "Russia invaded unprovoked."
Don, your Substack looks great! Go, go, GO!
Pax, Jeff
Thanks!
Thanks, Jeff.

It’s NOT about an ethnicity, it’s about an ideology.
Agree. Nazi ideology weaponized by US hegemonic impulse, which is itself an ideology. However there is a racist component to both.
